MetroGnome is a sample-accurate metronome with a fun side. Instead of a blinking light or a pendulum, in this app, a happy little gnome keeps time on a cowbell.

Press the play / pause button to start or stop the metronome, and use the gnome slider, tap tempo button, or arrows to set the tempo (adjustable from 40 to 220 bpm). The meter selection buttons at the bottom of the screen set the metronome to a variety of time signatures, and the "X" option simply provides a uniform, unaccented tempo. The instrument selection buttons at the top of the screen allow you to choose between the sounds of a cowbell or claves.

As is customary in such time signatures, the tempo for the 6/8, 7/8 (3+2+2 / 8) and 8/8 (3+3+2 / 8) indicates the length of a dotted quarter note, not a quarter note (i.e., 6/8 time with a tempo of 40 will sound the same as 3/4 time with a tempo of 120).
